Twenty plus years of compassionate care.

Lucia opened Equinox Mental Health in 2026 after two decades of counseling work in residential, community-based, and outpatient settings. She works with individuals age fourteen and up, meeting each person where they are and helping them move, at their own pace, toward the change they're already reaching for.

Her approach is client-centered and grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy — practical, collaborative, and paced to fit the person in front of her rather than a script.

Areas of focus

Every person arrives with a different weight to set down. These are the places Lucia most often works alongside her clients.

  • Anxiety & depression

Understanding the patterns that keep a mind on edge or worn down, and building steadier ground underneath them.

  • Grief

Space to move through loss at your own pace, without a timeline imposed from outside.

  • Relationship issues

Working through conflict, communication, and connection — with partners, family, or within yourself.

  • Substance use & addiction

Compassionate, non-judgmental support for substance use and recovery, from someone who has spent a career in this work.

  • Co-occurring disorders

Integrated care when mental health and substance use are intertwined, rather than treated as separate problems.

How sessions work

Therapy here starts with listening. Using a client-centered Cognitive Behavioral approach, Lucia helps clients notice the thoughts and patterns driving a difficult moment, and build practical, workable ways through it — at a pace that respects where you are, not where a treatment plan says you should be.

Lucia has worked with adolescents and adults across residential, community-based, and office-based outpatient settings, and welcomes clients age fourteen and up. Whatever brought you here, the first conversation is simply that — a conversation.
